Learning sewing techniques is fine but being able to make something fun and practical is even better. Here's a project that even beginners can do. Making a baby bib is easy and it's perfect as a gift. There's so many cute flannel prints out there that you won't be able to make only one. If you want to embellish like I did, you can embroider (watch our hot iron transfer tutorial for some tips on stitching), add Fabric Applique, or even do stenciling with fabric paint. Make sure that you do pick fabric that is washable and you wash and dry it before cutting out your patterns. It'll probably get a lot of use and washing after it's made.
