Coats & Clark gave us some thread from their new line, Eloflex. This is a stretchable thread and we have an extra set for one lucky person. This thread is different than traditional elastic thread in that it looks similar to regular thread and you can thread it in the top and bobbin area of your machine, just treat it like normal thread. If you pull on it, it does have a slight stretch so you can sew your knit seams with a straight stitch instead of a zigzag stitch. If you want to enter our giveaway, leave a comment below and let us know what type of project you'd love to use this thread on. We'll pick a winner at random on September 19, 2017. Enter now before it's too late!

I love this thread! I just tried it on my recent make of a bamboo/cotton mix using the Maritime Knit top by Liesl Gibson. Works beautifully – you can use it with a straight stitch on a knit and it still allows a little stretch – perfect for staystitching a neckline and armhole without having to use tape making it a great buy.
I would love to try out some of this thread. I think I’ll end up stocking up on it if it works well. A few basic colors would suffice so they wouldn’t get old until I get the feel of it. Need to know where it will be sold.
Stretchable thread is new to me and a fantastic way to sew knits on my vintage Singer, which doesn’t have a Zigzag stitch. Prof Pincushion’s pattern drafted skirt is a great place to start; wouldn’t it look cute with a short knit jacket? And then the jacket with a stretch knit dress to create a small capsule wardrobe in fall colors. The thread colors are inspiring and a great jumping off point. Thank you for the contest!
This is one giveaway I would really love. Right now, my only recourse is to purchase wooly polyester or wooly nylon on serger spools then hand wind onto bobbinsj for sewing machine use. Not only is this a pain but purchasing large serger spools in colors I don’t use often is a waste and expensive. These spools could be used on both machines and give me color choices. Yes……..
Thanks for this sweepstakes! Great opportunity to get thread so desperately needed!
Thank you for the opportunity. I can make good use of this thread.
I’d love to give this new thread a try. Always on the lookout to make my sewing look better.
What a cool idea for sewing knits! Awesome!
I would love to have the new stretch thread Eloflex to sew a new pair of Yoga pants and several knit tees.
This type of thread would be wonderful for stretch knits and I would love to give it a try.
