hi there, I would add it to the bottom and you can do it similar to our tutorial in in lengthen or shorten a bodice found here: https://www.professorpincushion.com/professorpincushion/lengthen-or-shorten-bodice-pattern-alteration/ Basically, you’re drawing your outline of the bodice or vest pieces (both front and back) then slide it down 2″ and redraw a new bottom. So you’re still maintaining the shape of the bottom and it’s not that hard to do. I hope this helps 🙂
