Altering Pants legs in a pattern.

Hi Professor Pincushion. It’s me again. I’m working with a Butterick pants pattern B5818 and layed the pattern out and noticed that even though the psttern is the right size weight wise, it won’t give me the skinny leg look I’d like. Any advice on how to alter the legs before I put the piece together.
