bow tie, how to shorten to fit a 14" neck?

Using the bow tie pattern provided, how to shorten it to fit a 14″ neck.

I saw the pattern measures 16 1/2″ and in the video it says it will fit a 15 1/2″ neck. Would I then shorten the pattern to measure 15″?

Please advise.

You would shorten it in the center front of the pattern, so the squared edge. Yeah, you can just cut off (or fold over) that end by an inch or an inch and half. but use cheap fabric to make a quick prototype and make sure it’s the right side you want it.
