Box pleat problems

Hi there, I have never made a box pleat skirt before and after watching a few videos I had a go at a DIY box pleated skirt, which I made from a rectangular piece of fabric and attached a straight waistband. My problem is that the fabric is rolling/riding up just below the waistband. I understand why this is happening because the waist is curved, but obviously I have made the skirt now, in future I will do it differently. Is there anything that I can do to fix this?

Is it doing this on both the front and back of the skirt or just one of these areas? It can be a fit issue. If you get horizontal wrinkles below the waistline, like the skirt is riding up, in the front, it can mean that there’s too much distance in the skirt between the hipline and the waistline so if you shorten this on your pattern, it might solve the issue.
