Drafting a collar

Dear Prof Pincushion.
Firstly let me say Hi all the way down south from Cape Town, South Africa. Secondly I simply love your videos and it has really helped me immensely.
I am however looking for help with a collar. I want to convert a fleece sweater(rib neckband) to a quarter zip opening with a collar. I found the tutorial on the zip but I am not sure how to draft the collar as the pattern obviously does not have that.

thanks for watching! Essentially, you’ll be creating a rectangle shaped pattern. If you know the length of the neckline, this will be length of the bottom of the rectangle. The height of the rectangle will be whatever you want, but I’d start with 2-3 inches and then add seam allowance around your pattern where needed. I’d use some scrap fabric to baste it together to see if you like the height and adjust if necessary. good luck!
