How to increase waist line on caftan pattern

can you show me how to increase the waist line to desired waist line on a caftan pattern? also can you show me how to shorten sleeve on a mans lined suit coat?

I’m assuming the caftan pattern is a one piece in that the bodice and skirt portion are a single piece instead of separate. As far as I’m aware there’s not an easy way to increase the waistline. The only way I’ve seen it done is placing the pattern on a piece of paper, marking on the paper where you want the waistline to be increased and then blending a line from the current bustline to new waistline mark and then blending back to the hipline. Remember the waistline should be 1/4 of the total increase measurement.
