Hi, I am currently constructing overalls from the Burda Pattern 6599. I’ve done zipper fly for shorts but this mock fly thing has me stumped I have no clue how I’m supposed to finally stitch it down. Thankfully I’m doing a muslin first and I’ve tried a few different ways but none seem to look right. It doesn’t help that Burda is super vague in the instructions. Any tips or tricks or maybe I’m just way off base?

I notice that burda has a blog tutorial on a mock fly. Have you seen this? http://www.burdastyle.com/techniques/apply-a-mock-fly-front-zipper

Yes I did, but it wasn’t all that clear. As of today I did finally figure it out. Thank you for the tip. I was misreading the pattern and stitching where I needed to be folding instead hence it was looking odd.
