This is a little tricky as once you sew the organza ruffle to the neckline of the bodysuit, you’ll lose the stretch in the spandex because the organza doesn’t stretch. I don’t know if this will work, but maybe try it on some scraps to see what happens but it’s an idea. Instead of pregathering the organza ruffle, You can sew it to the neckline ungathered but stretch the spandex as you sew it on. When the spandex relaxes, (unstretched), will naturally bunch up the organza. I can’t say that this will create the look that you’re going for, but it will allow the spandex to still stretch.
