    I’m making Simplicity 1612, the centre front of the skirt is gathered but it is too full. How do I remove some of the gathering. Should I put a pleat in the CF of the pattern?

    You could add a pleat, but you’ll may have to also have to adjust the bottom of the bodice, otherwise they might be different sizes when you try to fit these pieces together.
