    I’m trying to shirr/gather a satin sash, for a mccall pattern m5850 but the satin is not holding the gathers very well. What do I need to do ?

    I’m assuming your creating your gathers by sewing basting stitches and, because there’s no backstitching, the gathers just slip out. Next time, after you create your gathers, use a small piece of fabric tape to tape your thread tails in place. If those are stuck in place, your gather should remain until you do your final stitching. Looks like a cute dress! I’d love to see it when you finish. 🙂
