What is seam binding?

The Notions in McCall’s 6559 says: “One package 1/2″ Seam Binding”. What is seam binding? Is it used the same way as twill tape? Which is better to stay the shoulders? Instructions included in picture. Thanks!

Thanks for adding the image. In this particular case, it does look like they’re using the seam binding in the same way that I demonstrate in our twill tape tutorial. Other ways seam binding is used is for binding the raw edges of a seam, which is similar to the main image of our tutorial Finish Seams: https://www.professorpincushion.com/professorpincushion/finish-seams/ I hope this helps 🙂
