Sometimes it can be challenge just to sew a simple garment, but then to add a lining on top of that and it could feel a bit overwhelming. In this tutorial, we cover how to add a lining to the bodice. I demonstrate with two different examples so even if your own bodice is different than mine, hopefully, you'll still find this tutorial helpful. We cover not only on where to attach the lining but also understitching and top stitching. Don't be intimidated by bodice lining again.

Thank You!
For a more finished look, I would put in the zipper into the main garment, before sewing the lining in at the neckline. If you watch our tutorial for Invisible Zipper with a Lining, I talk about how to do the lining so that the raw edges around the zipper will be concealed. You can definitely do this for a regular zipper as well and, hopefully, it’ll give you an idea on how it’s done. 🙂
Thanks for the tutorial! How would I handle to top of the zipper since it is going in after the lining? How would I give it a finished look? Is there a way to put the lining in after the zipper so the zipper top is covered? Thanks!
This was great! Can you please do a bodice lining video that includes sleeves? I find that’s the hardest part when it comes to lining. The fabric always bunches up under the armpit. I can’t seem to find a good work-around this problem. Any help you can suggest would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks so much for this PP!
