Have you've ever gone up a size in a commercial pattern to fit most of your measurements but now find that your hip area is too big? If so, don't fret. This tutorial will show you how to use the pivot method to adjust only the hip circumference of your commercial patterns. The result will be a smaller hip measurement that will look like the pattern was custom fitted just for you. Altering your patterns have never been easier to do and now there's no reason to be frustrated by the fit. Do your alterations in the beginning and it will save you time later. As with all alterations and adjustments, make sure that you make a muslin first so you can test the fit and use cheaper fabric instead of sacrificing your nice fabric. This way, there will be no surprises later on and you'll know exactly what you're getting.
