What I really love about the double threaded back stitch is that it looks like an intricate embroidery stitch. The good news is it's actually very easy to do. Those are always my favorite: looks hard but is not hard at all. When done it looks absolutely beautiful and impressive and can add a lot to your hand embroidery designs. The double threaded back stitch is basically made up of two parts. It's the basic back stitch and then the thread is woven through it. It's called double threaded because it goes through the back stitch twice. There's no rule as you can just do single threaded as well. I just prefer it double because it looks so pretty. Also, my demo is shown with two strands of embroidery floss because it's a little easier to see but the main image shows with six strands which I thinks looks nicer and it's a lot easier to see the design aspect. But you can do whatever you prefer for your own designs and experiment like I did with different colors.
