I don't know about you, but my ironing board has definitely seen better days.  It's not that it's not functional.  It still works, it's just stained, dirty, and, frankly, not pretty.  I've had this one for awhile so it's really not surprising and I could easily go buy a new one or, at the very least, buy a new cover.  The ironing board is still good though and store bought ironing board covers are somewhat boring.  Luckily for me, I have a lot of cute fabric in my stash and it's actually very simple to make a new cover.  As seen in this tutorial, that's exactly what I did and my old ironing board now looks cute and one-of-a-kind.  If your tired of your own old ironing board cover, then check out this tutorial and give that ironing board a facelift.
