I'm a self proclaimed foodie. I love to eat and I especially love to snack. Cheese and crackers and strawberries! Oh my! This is probably why I also love to cook and entertain. I can make delectable treats for a crowd and enjoy tasting many different things without indulging in too much. Although sometimes I do indulge too much but who's counting? This is why I created my new cooking and hostess apron. Introducing: Shirley LaRue the Kangaroo. And, just like me, she loves to entertain as well, but she uses her pocket to stash away treats for later. Aw, we know each other's secrets so well.
The pattern of this apron is a good foundation. It's simple with a taste of retro. To give this apron a unique look there's a kangaroo appliqued on the front. The kangaroo pouch becomes the pocket of the apron. There's also a bit of embroidery to add some detail to the kangaroo's face. Buttons make up her pearl necklace and lace is added to the bottom of the apron skirt gives it a girly flair.
In the end, I'm very proud with how this apron came out. It's functional, yet flirty and cute. A hostess will definitely draw attention in this apron and I love wearing mine. I see a "new apron" party in my future just so I can show it off. It would also make a fantastic housewarming gift for friends and family, but if you make one, it might be hard to give away. Neither I nor Shirley will blame you.
Adorable apron for the Adorable model!!
I downloaded my free apron pattern now all I have to do is get some cute fabric, dust off my old sewing machine, and sew!!! I hope mine looks as cute as the one displayed on the model.
