A kick pleat is an added extension added to a skirt which allows more freedom of movement. Because of this, kick pleats are ideal for adding to pencil skirts, although, you can add them to other skirts as well. We show you two different versions of the kick pleat: a regular kick pleat, that's a great alternative to the vent extension, and the set-in kick pleat. Not only can kick pleats be very functional but they can also be a fashionable addition. You can see the example of my skirt here as a set-in kick pleat. It's a fun way to add a bit of flair and contrast to spice up your skirt. We also demonstrate the best way to hem up a skirt with a kick pleat as the process is not as straightforward as regular hem.
