The fabric needs to be stretchy so I wouldn’t recommend flannel 🙁

Would a light flannel fabric work with this pattern? I love the pattern and tutorial.

I would agree about the sleeves. My sleeves came out a little wonky, though for my first onesie I was pretty impressed with myself!

I love this tutorial. I’ made two as practice before starting w better fabric. I just wish you spent more time showing the most difficult part…pinning and sewing the sleeves! I cannot get that part to come out quite right and it was the quickest part of the video

My onesie was actually too big for my newborn model so I guess it just depends. The fabric was a knit fabric, not fleece, and I loved working with it. I love when I get a knit that doesn’t roll. It was picked up at JoAnn’s. I know they have their fashion knit section, but this was on its own shelf with other baby knits so maybe they make that fabric a little thicker than the fashion knit. I hope you can find some. They had a lot of cute baby prints to choose from 🙂

I finally posted my Onesie the picture came out ok. The material which you used was thicker and easier to work with My material was light cotton and very stretchy, it was easy to work with exccept when it came to picking a zigzag sticth, I have singer 9960 and when I changed the foot to #30 zigzag the material kept getting caught up on the foot. I had to change the foot and find another zizag. The pattern is so small Most people have large babies today. I am going to draw a larger pattern will let you know how that comes out. The pattern was fun to make In the future please tell us more about what type of material you used it looked like a soft fleece. I am making gifts for people at my job who are expecting. Can you please post a pattern for a costmetic bag using oilcloth or laminated cotton. I would love to know how to work with this material. Keturah
