Does your pet really need a costume?  Maybe not but it is fun and, because they're normally smaller, it doesn't take much effort.  Also, look how cute he looks!  That may be the best reason as any to make this adorable pet costume.  This tutorial shows you how to create the Royal Robe.  I made mine out of a red crushed panne velour so it would look extra regal.  It's soft like velvet but more economical.  If you want something similar, you should be able to find it at your local store.
