The slot seam is a decorative seam that's a cool detail to add to any of your projects.  This seam is kind of like a cross between a pleat and a tuck.  Underneath each seam is another strip of fabric so it gives you the opportunity to add a cool contrast to your look.  You can add it to the seam between a yoke and shirt front, to the side seam of your pants or put a series of slot seams going down the front of a skirt.  The nice thing about this element is that the seam allowance remains the same.  It's easy to make any normal seam into a slot seam and you don't even have to make any alterations to your projects to accommodate it.  Watch our tutorial to see how easy it is to pull it off and then try it for yourself.
