If you're making a hoodie, you'll want to add a pocket so you have a place to store things or keep your hands warm. Having a pocket on the front, similar to a patch pocket, is common in hoodies. This tutorial will show you how to sew the split pocket which is found on hoodies with a zipper. In fact the separating zipper helps finish the center front raw edge of the pocket. I'm using a pattern in my demonstration but the instructions are generic enough that it should be similar to other hoodie patterns as well. Don't let something like a pocket intimidate you. You can do this and you'll be glad when you do, plus warm hands are always a bonus.
