The fun part about sewing your own things, is that you are making something unique. You can make changes to an item, get to pick out what fabric and trim you want to use and really take ownership of your item. Another way to make it unique is by embellishing with fabric paint. Fabric paint can either be found at fabric stores, online, or even at art supply stores. Yes, there is paint out there, which is specifically designed for fabric, and they're even washable. The ideas you can use with this are truly endless. If you're like me, and not very artistic, in the freehand painting sense, don't worry. Even the least artistic among us can still have fun. In this tutorial, I show you how to create your own stencil using freezer paper, which irons on without leaving any residue and it makes painting on a design a snap! Go ahead and paint designs on tshirts, bags, jeans, basically anything! It really is a lot of fun and makes your item that much more unique.
