Going into the fabric store can be a bit overwhelming, especially when you're beginner. There's just so many different types and who knows where to even start. It's tempting to grab something that's gorgeous but, chances are, that pretty fabric might be really difficult to sew with and lead to a lot of frustration. What's a beginner to do? It's better to start with easy projects and fabrics and then work your way up to the harder stuff. Even difficult fabric can make the most experienced among us still cry. In this video, I've put together what I consider to be the top six beginner friendly fabrics. While this is definitely not an exhaustive list, it can at least point you in the right direction whether your sewing crafts, quilting, or want to get into apparel sewing. All of these fabrics are fairly easy to work with, which makes the sewing process so much nicer, especially when you're first learning to sew.
